Can I rent the McDuffee-Casteel Gardens?
The McDuffee-Casteel Gardens are available for rent April through October for morning, afternoon (until 5pm) and evening (6pm or later) events. The Gardens are available for rent separately, or in conjunction with rental of the Stuart Avenue Inn.
Can we come in and set-up before our rental?
Time for set-up and break-down are figured into the rental contract. Any time in excess of that specified in the contract is charged at the rate of $125 per hour.
Can we decorate?
Yes, temporary decorations are allowed as long as twist ties or fish line is used to hang items. No nails, staples or tape can be used. No ladders, step stools, etc., may be used.
May we use a caterer?
Yes, you are responsible for obtaining your own caterer. The caterer needs to be licensed and insured. Self-catered food/beverage requires permission from Stuart Avenue Inn personnel and proof of insurance.
Where do we get tables and chairs for our event?
The Inn provides all tables, chairs, tents, linens, china.
Does Stuart Avenue Inn have any media equipment?
Yes. The Inn can arrange for almost any kind of media equipment for your event.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking is allowed in buildings. An area outside is set aside to accommodate smoking.
Are candles allowed?
No open flame is allowed in the Inn or Gardens with the exception of tea light votives which are permitted with permission of Stuart Avenue Inn only. Grills and other open flame catering must be stationed at least 25 feet away from any building.
Is music permitted?
Yes, however Stuart Avenue Inn personnel have the right to control the volume of music.
When can we hold a rehearsal?
The Event Contract includes one rehearsal and one planning visit prior to the event date. Any additional visits will be charged at the rate of $125/per hour. All visits must be scheduled with Stuart Avenue Inn at least one week prior to the event.
Are there changing spaces available?
Rental of the Inn includes changing spaces. For those renting the Garden only, a changing space may be rented for an additional fee. Stuart Avenue Inn is not responsible for personal belongings lost, damaged and or stolen.
